Announcements

  • The Chattooga County School District recognizes that many students are without transportation to pick up meals at our schools’ drive-thru locations. Therefore, starting this week on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, and again on Thursday, March 26th, 2020, we will be delivering meals to all bus routes in Chattooga County. Meals may be delivered by bus, van, SUV or truck. Please be watching for either a school bus or another vehicle, which will be clearly marked with an official Chattooga County Schools emblem. Please be at your usual bus stop between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Please be patient with us if we experience some unforeseen delays in our schedule, as this is a new experience for all of us. Pick-up meals will continue to be available at each school from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon daily.

Breakfast and a lunch will be given to anyone 18 years of age or under, at each bus stop. If you do not normally ride a bus but would like to receive delivered meals, simply meet at the bus stop closest to your home. We will add stops as much as possible within our schedule and route. Please DO NOT gather and wait in large clusters of more than 10 people. You must keep the 6 feet distance between you and others around you, as requested by our Governor and health officials.  THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Bus stops that do not follow these guidelines may be dropped from the delivery route.

  • COVID Update

    Dear Chattooga County Families,

We know there is a concern with the impact of the coronavirus on our school community.  Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our students and staff.

As of March 3, 2020, two confirmed cases have been reported in Fulton County, Georgia.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will take action as necessary.

Chattooga County Schools continuously receives updates and guidance on signs and symptoms of the coronavirus.  Our school system is closely working with the Chattooga County Health Department and school nurses and will be monitoring information that is being released from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

There are preventative measures you can take that are recommended by the medical community. These measures are the same as those for the flu.

    • Wash hands frequently
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
    • Stay home if you are sick and running a fever
    • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or use tissues to cover the cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash

Chattooga County Schools will update school websites, social media, and local news stations if any information becomes available.

There is up-to-date information on the coronavirus on the Georgia Department of Public Health  website  https://dph.georgia.gov/ or the Center for Disease Control website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

Thank you for helping us keep our staff, students, and community safe.
